    Tucson campus has a rainwater harvesting demonstration site open to the public. Special tours can be arranged for your organization or large groups by calling 520-622-3861. Docents are also available to make presentations off-site at your location.

  • Tucson Innovative Home Tour
    an annual event sponsored by The Solar Alliance of Tucson, features homes that include solar installations, water conservation, rainwater harvesting, and graywater use. The tour for 2008 will be in October; specific date has not yet been announced. Information is at www.solarinstitute.org.

    Tohono Chul offers “The Great Xeriscape,” a monthly walking tour of the park focused on using native and arid-adapted plants in water saving landscapes. The tour is given the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10 am.

Courses

  • University of Arizona, Water Harvesting course
    SWES 454/554, 3 units, taught by Prof. Jim Riley during spring semester
    The course focuses on water harvesting principles and techniques. Students learn to apply concepts at their own residences and participate in applying them on the UA campus.
